Monthly Finds is a series where I share things that are resonating with me, things I’ve discovered or am currently loving! They don’t necessarily come out every month, so here goes the much needed updates!
My favourite spiritual guru Gabby is writing her next book (not that I’ve read all of her published ones already, but The Universe Has Your Back is a game changer and must-read!), Super Attractor, which comes out in September 2019, and I’m inspired to share an excerpt she shared:
“Trust that your positive energy is enough to allow your desires to come into your life. When you have faith in your power to attract, you can be happy in anticipation of what’s coming. Instead of worrying about the future, you can know all is well when you’re aligned in the present. It’s the moments of alignment that focus your point of attraction toward exactly what you desire. Give yourself permission to get excited about your desires and feel your way into the energy of all that you’re creating. Know that just feeling good is a radical act of creation. Feel good and anticipate more.”
Takeaway key: Have faith in my abilities to be high vibe, and to manifest. And the more confidence I have in my abilities to do that, the surer the manifestations are to come!
I got to meet first hand the founder of Papa Earth, Julian. He, or someone from his team hand-delivers the packages from their car, and he was so friendly! If you live outside the GTA, packages get shipped via FedEx/UPS and comes with dry ice to keep your package fresh.
Papa Earth delivers antibiotic/hormone-free meats straight to your door, fresh from the farm to table ^ as it says on the box! They have a variety of meats from Lamb to fish, to bison, to beef, to pork.
Naturally, I selected salmon in my box, <3 which is by far my favourite fish. In my small box, I also got beef tenderloin, ground bison, bison burgers, haddock fillet, and steak, and chicken breast.
What I love about their system is that unlike other meal delivery services, you get to 100% customize your box. In fact, it was made that way! With their coins system (think of it like points), you get to pick and choose which meats you want, and each piece is valued differently. For example, the Top sirloin steak is valued at 5 coins, while the ground beef is valued at 4. Your number of allotted coins depends on the size of your box. Also, with each order (and you can choose how often you’d like them to reoccur, starting from 2 week to 6 weeks and you can cancel or pause at any time), you earn loyalty coins to collect and add to your next order to get extra meats 🙂
Also, their returning customers give back the box and in-liner which they can re-use. Earth friendly, right? Every time you order you receive loyalty coins which you can use in exchange for a discount or save up for a free box.
I found the salmon fillet to be OKAY (nice, but I felt like it was lacking the seaside taste, as with the other fish product–the haddock fillet), but the NY strip steak to be extremely creamy and yummy <–that was my favourite! I also got the chance to try bison for the first time and that was extremely exciting!
In the future, I’d love to see some more game meats such as deer–and some organ meats that are so full of nutrients like liver, heart, and kidney. I’d also love to see 100% organic, 100% grass-fed meats too. You can’t get more higher quality than that!
For m’fitties who’d like a discount, when you use discount coupon THEFITTYBONUS you’ll also get:
- 1 free rib eye steak with the small box
- 2 free rib eye steaks with the medium box
- 5 free rib eye steaks with the large box!
If anything, I super duper recommend you try them just for the quality of the meats they provide–it’s so much better than conventionally raised animals you typically get at the store. 🙂
Cherry blossoms. How beautiful.
If you really want to get spiritual, here’s what Wiki says:
Cherry blossoms are a symbolic flower of the spring, a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of life. Their life is very short. After their beauty peaks around two weeks, the blossoms start to fall.
The smell of the trees post-rain. Ah, now that’s refreshing.
I met Melissa back in fall of 2018 at my school’s farmer’s market. She was so sweet, and I immediately connected with her. Although I make it a conscious decision to avoid nuts, I did try her almond cheese (almonds are more keto-friendly than cashews). It was so good! She has 5 flavours: Jamaican Jerky, Regular, Spicy, Basil + Oregano, and Dill. DILL. IS. MY. FAVOURITE.
If you’re vegan/paleo, her spreads will not disappoint. 😀
ASMR + BOSE HEADPHONES!
Loving ASMR with my new BOSE wireless bluetooth headphones! I manifested this headset worth $260 CAN through a draw I entered and totally forgot about. I’m amazed at what happens when I set my intentions and let go of controlling the outcome. Life is lovely. Life is good.
What is ASMR? Well, I can’t describe it in any other words than…IT’S A BRAIN-GASM THAT SENDS SHIVERS DOWN YOUR SPINE 😀
Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is an experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. It has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia and may overlap with frisson.
One of my favourite ASMR artists on youtube (WhispersRed) apparently has an album (click the link!). I fall asleep listening to her videos and occasionally take a midday recharging nap.
My favourites are ear licking and ear to ear whispers–Frivi (video above) does this really well and is one of the most well-known ASMRists out there. Some people love it, some people hate it, either way plug in your earphones/headphones and give it a try!
I’ve been using essential oils again almost every night in my beloved “Ahh”. (a name which I gave my latest aroma diffuser)
The most potent oil brand I’ve come across is doTerra and YoungLiving. They use 100% GRADE A therapeutic blend and I notice that I only have to use 1-2 drops as opposed to 5-15 with other blends, so I end up saving quite a bit of money 🙂 I’m currently loving Serenity, which provides feelings of calm and restful sleep. It smells of lavender; which helps ease stress!
IF YOU HAVEN’T TRIED THEIR TILAPIA THEN WHATAREYOUDOINGWITHYOURLIFE?!
Ali Baba’s is a middle-eastern fast food cuisine in Toronto that serves pitas, salads, soups, and rice bowls.
I fell in love upon first sight at the fish, but boy on boy did I fall even more in love with it upon first taste. It wasn’t anything like i expected; slightly dry/lean. It was lean for sure, but boy oh boy was it moist, soft, and dare I say even creamy! I don’t know how they cooked it, but I sure want the secret! #AliBabaPleaseSponsorMe! I mean, my workplace is just nearby so you might as well…
Friggin best $3.50 I’ve ever spent on fish.
So…what’re you into lately? SPILL THE DETAILS! <3
**some of these items I mentioned were received complimentary for the post, however, my thoughts and opinions remain 100% honest.
