2015 is ovvveeeerrrrr!!! I am sad and happy at the same time, because there was a lot of things that happened this year and a lot of promise for the new year. I’m excited to see how this year will turn out. I definitely have some goals in mind. Not everything I went through this year was the most fabulous, but that’s expected of life, right? You gain in one aspect and lose in another.
Let’s start sometime in the early 2015 winter…
I auditioned for universities and got into a theater program.
I have been the leanest I’ve ever been in my life and the fittest I’ve ever been in my life. (That’s changed by now, but I have achieved it in May/June!)
I conquered 36 hour fasts!
I visited China (part 1) (part 2) (+ Overall lifestyle)
I moved out of the house to my own place near university in September. I AM FREE OF MY MOM AND DAD!
I gained weight compared to this time last year. {Thanks a lot, China}. I don’t have a specific photo to show you, because I tend to shun cameras and social media when I’m not feeling my best.
I recorded my first instavideo of myself singing:
…and that’s a wrap!
For the Christmas holidays, I returned back home to spend some time with family. I don’t have a great relationship with them, but the distance makes us grow fonder of each other and have more appreciation. I also miss my siblings dearly.
It sort of feels good to be home, even if we’re moving homes.
This is the new kitchen we have! This is at least two and a half times the size of our previous one. Apparently, an Italian custom made this kitchen and lived here for 29 years. We bought it off a Chinese couple who lived here for 1 year just after he left. I’m not sure if he designed the entire house, but I know that I love this kitchen; italians love their kitchen.
I absolutely love the oven and the colour. It’s hard to imagine that our little kitchen back then could hold all of our kitchen materials and food when it was less than half the size of this one, when this one is pretty much filling up! We don’t have much space many things–all the cupboards are filled with pastas, cups, plates, pots and pans, and so on and so forth.
We moved only a few blocks down from where we used to be. This house is bigger, has 1 more bedroom than the previous, and the basement had separate entry for tenants below. I wasn’t the most thrilled to be moving to a house that was just similar to the one we had before. in my view–if you’re going to buy a better house, buy a REALLY better house, not just a little bit better.
took a few photos on Christmas and Christmas eve on my camera, but these are are few photos from my phone.
We left messages under the Christmas tree for Santa, a few cookies out with soy milk, and a carrot for Rudolph. Oh yes, and a raisin bran muffin.
A few cookies were missing and bites of carrots were missing. Soy milk was all gone. He came! I chose to believe in the magic, even though I know the truth.
What did I get for Christmas? Nothing much–a pair of earrings with a necklace and some Studio Ghibli pirated movies. My siblings got toys, like foozeball.
And because I couldn’t take it anymore, felt so hot at home, I went outside to get a dosage of coldness.
And here’s why Santa is real:
And for Christmas, I used up a lot of the protein bars I had and made them into special little treats. The kitchen was smelling really sweet for quite a while with the creation of vegan balls, protein loaves, and cakes. We then distributed a few to neighbours. Some of them we left at the doorstep of houses with a little note instead of knocking on the door and distributing to them in person by hand. For a little bit of hope, I though maybe I should leave a little hint of which neighbour it is by leaving “IG: @thefitty” at the very bottom. What I did not expect was for anyone to contact me! I got a message just 3 hours later on instagram from a fellow neighbor!
Resolutions for 2016:
Get my Personal Training certification
I’ve looked into workshops in January and February and plan to be certified sometime in the early months of this year. They are 8 hour workshops for 2-3 days. Then I can work at the gym on campus!
Get accepted into a triple threat theatre
I’m not quite so sure I will be staying at my university because it’s strictly focused on theater, but not singing nor dancing, and that’s what I love.
Lose a few lbs(I’m not interested in tracking exact numbers)
The winter flub.
Run 21k (again) because I didn’t run consistently this year
Have monthly goals that I adhere to
I’ve started writing all my goals for certain months. Each month has one central goal, for example, January 2016 is #whole30, which is a strict paleo diet challenge for the entire month, and I’m also eliminating nuts. So far, so good! I haven’t decided on a goal for each month yet and I’m making it up as I go, but I know that in February, I am not spending any money.
[Somehow] improve mental health (less anxiety, more gratitude, etc etc)
I think I’ll start meditating more and keeping a gratitude journal for one of the months to track.
What are your goals for 2016? WHAT DID YOU GET FOR CHRISTMAS?!
