I am so glad I moved out on my own. I’ve had family problems and don’t have to deal with that anymore now that I’m independent. I currently live off campus in the basement of a townhouse with 12 other people that’s near my post-secondary school. I go to university for theatre, so technically I’m not a “college”-kid but I think the term is so broadly used and more familiar, so I say that instead of “uni-kid”.
Here are some problems I’ve encountered while rooming with the people here…
Your roommate is singing and cooking lasagna at 1 in the morning

Your roommate smokes weed at night….

…so that explains your weird dreams.

The fridge is never big enough for the 4 of you to share

You’re spending an insane amount of money…especially on overpriced food

You feel sorry for the people downstairs but you can’t help but make thumping noises when you’re doing tuck jumps.

You bought canned food but forgot to bring the can opener

Other than that, I’ve been having a blast with my roommate Wardah watching movies, talking about Pakistani culture(she’s from there), doing homework together, and of course, eating lots of food. I’ve been bringing her organic apples from my singing instructor who grows and gives them out to her students, sweets from coffee house events on campus, and Starbucks treats. 🙂 T
What were some of the hassles you encountered on campus/moving out for post-secondary?

We both like to take walks.
