Once made, don’t share.
The cookie monster is fun, but he hasn’t upped his cookie game. Does the cookie monster dip his cookies in cookie butter?
I didn’t think so.
He could be so good, he doesn’t even know. He could be THE Cookie Monster. THE Cookie Butta Monsta.
I’ve always been jealous of people eating Trader Joe’s cookie butters. They are not available to me here in Canada. Upon viewing the nutrition facts, a part of my said I was lucky. I didn’t want all that sugar in my spreads. But people were says how good it was! So I had to taste it. I just had to.
Wa-bing! It was baking time.
I gathered all the ingredients and spent a good hour or so in the kitchen. Guess what? There’s only 5 ingredients!
Pssst! There’s a secret ingredient in this cookie butter that make them taste extraordinary…
…sunflower seed butter.
Yeah! I’m serious!
I looked high and low for unsweetened sunflower seed butter but could only find overpriced ones in rare stores like Whole Foods. I settled for the one at bulk barn with contained cane sugar, unfortunately. There were only two options for me: do you want cookie butter, or not?
The extra carbs wouldn’t kill!
So bam. Mixed it all. Ate it all. Didn’t crave for more because it was so darn rich. My mouth was partying, partying, party-pooped!
Candy canes because…why not? I felt festive at the time.
I used Swerve, an all natural calorie free sweetener, to sweeten it. I like it a more than Splenda! You can use anything you like, though.

Oh, and for those of you living in the states, I dare you to compare the two cookie butters. Move over Trader Joe’s.
